Dear all,

May I just draw your attention to the fact that comments are not visible on the immediate interface. This might make it a little bit difficult to become aware of them.
Therefore I would like to ask you to always have a brief look on the symbols below the texts you posted. You can see the number of comments that have been made to your contribution where it states "0/1/... Kommentare".
Alternatively, if you want to react to a certain posting, you could also make just a "normal" contribution via the conventional procedure, clicking on the button "Neuen Beitrag anlegen" and making sure that your contribution appears below the thread concerned.

In this section I will try to give you some basic and hopefully helpful hints on how to use this weblog. As the whole interface/surface/menu is labelled in German, some of the explanations are adressed especially to those among you who do not speak German.

In the following I will systematically go through the complete menu list on the left hand side of the screen/page/website.

1. USER STATUS:

• Profil bearbeiten --> Edit your profile

• Abonnements --> This is a very important and helpful option. In this submenu you can decide whether you want to be informed via e-mail about new contributions on the weblog. By this means, you don't need to visit the website in order to learn about entries in the weblog.
  If you make a click on this subject, a new window will appear. In the middle of this window you will find a link labelled „>>E-Mail Abo aktivieren“. A click on this link will open a menu where you can determine with which frequency and to which extent you want to be informed about new postings in the weblog VIA E-MAIL.
  You can choose between several options.
  • ..überhaupt nie --> ..never
  • ..sobald ein neuer Beitrag verfasst wird --> ..as soon as a new contribution is posted
  • ..sobald ein neuer Beitrag oder ein neuer Kommentar verfasst wird --> ..as soon as a new contribution or a new comment is posted
  • ..sobald jemand auf einen deiner Beiträge/Kommentare antwortet --> ..as soon as somebody reacts to one of your contributions
  • ..sobald jemand auf einen Beitrag antwortet, den du bereits kommentiert hast --> ..as soon as somebody reacts to a contribution you already commented on
  • ..sobald ein neuer Beitrag verfasst wird, oder aber jemand auf einen Beitrag antwortet, den du bereits kommentiert hast -> ..as soon as a new contribution is posted or when somebody reacts to a contribution you already commented on

2. MENÜ:

In this area you will find the different threads to which you are cordially invited to make your contributions.

3. CONTRIBUTOR MENÜ:

• Neuen Beitrag anlegen --> Compose a new contribution. Some explanations on that: In the description field on the top you should enter a title. In the huge description field below you can type your text. Beneath, you have the possibility to choose between several options. Firstly, with "Diesen Beitrag auf der Startseite anzeigen" you are ask whether you want your contribution to appear on the main page. Please do not use this option excessively as otherwise the weblog will become unstructured! Thereunder, you can decide whether you want to start a new topic or whether you want to add your contribution to an already existing thread (Use the scroll-down field below the request "Wähle ein Thema...") Publish your contribution by clicking on the "Veröffentlichen"-button..

• Beiträge verwalten --> Administrate your contributions

• Bilder verwalten --> Administrate your pictures

• Dateien verwalten --> Administrate your files

• Umfragen verwalten --> Administration of polls
